Report: 3 Years of Success – OGP Technical Services Framework for Open Data & Data Management for the Irish Public Sector

The “Office of Government Procurement Technical Services Framework for Open Data & Data Management for the Irish Public Sector” report presents a comprehensive overview of the services provided from January 2022 to January 2025. These services enabled Public Service Bodies (PSBs) to improve their data management practices and share their data in an effective way. One of the framework’s key goals is to ensure that published datasets adhere to clearly defined standards, enhancing their discoverability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability. Aligned with the Open Data Strategy, the framework provides a roadmap and a facility to progress the data management and data sharing landscape in the Irish Public Sector.

The report highlights numerous projects, showcasing the collaborative efforts between Derilinx and several PSBs . The services provided include implementing open data portals, conducting data management assessments and reviews, developing data strategies, and providing a range of other technical and advisory support. ​

Notable examples include the upgrade of the Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform’s Open Data Portal, technical support for Smart Dublin’s Dublinked platform, and the establishment of Open Data portals for entities like the Central Bank of Ireland, Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Companies Registration Office – leading Europe in publishing Companies Registration data complying with High-Value Datasets regulations, and many others. Each project is tailored to address the organisation’s specific needs, ensuring enhanced data management, improved data sharing, and seamless open data publishing. The completion of these projects, delivered through the framework, serves to promote transparency, ensure regulatory compliance, and maximise data accessibility.

The report also highlights the Framework’s commitment to supporting environmental and social initiatives, helping projects that create meaningful impacts on critical social issues. As part of this commitment, Derilinx dedicates a percentage of its working hours to assisting these initiatives, which might otherwise lack the resources needed to thrive.
