Ireland has reached a key milestone in data transparency by taking a leading role in complying with the European Commission’s High-Value Dataset (HVD) requirements for company data. Through the Companies Registration Office (CRO), Ireland is sharing the ‘Companies Records’ dataset, a daily snapshot of the main details of all companies. Historical Financial Statements are also published. The datasets are made available in the prescribed format and through the specified means, as required by the Open Data Directive and Implementing Regulation
The CRO has launched its own Open Data Portal at opendata.cro.ie, providing easy access to essential company registration and financial statements information. Among the datasets available on the CRO’s portal is the daily updated Companies Records, which is harvested by the national portal data.gov.ie and from there made available on data.europa.eu.
